11:40 wmoxam: no, it was a point that vocal groups had said that 'Rails will fail' and it hasn't yet

11:42 smoofles: no matter though, I'm prolly the wrong person to comment on what I think EY did/does wrong and what I think of rails devs

11:43 smoofles: but it certainly isn't the paramount of ruby web frameworks if they were a) so afraid of merb and b) thought they need merb's features for their next big version

11:44 smoofles: that's beside the point, though – year 1 of Rails and dhh's petulant presentations on how Rails "beats the odds" might be okay, right now it's like a whiny child who doesn't tolerate anyone "competition"
11:45 smoofles: and they whole merger fucked up plans of anyone who thought merb will be supported by some time still and the plan of having a rails 3 alpha out by now was stupid from the beginning – but that didn't matter because everyone dissapointed was just a naysayer
