Senior Back-End Engineer
UrbanDaddy is a leading, exclusive email magazine that covers the latest in restaurants,
nightlife, fashion, experiences and products for hip, trend-seeking professionals. We are
looking for a full-time Senior LAMP Engineer to help develop our products in web, email and
mobile and channels. If you're looking for an exciting, fast-paced job, want to be a part of

Our Senior Back-End Engineer requires great development skills, as well as strategic thinking
and technical decision-making abilities. Your work will be critical to meeting our growth and
profitability targets and ensuring that our users have an enjoyable and valuable experience.
You will work across a multi-platform suite of websites and functionalities that are mixed among
homegrown, enterprise, and third party hosted solutions. It is therefore critical that you be
experienced in our various technologies and platforms, show versatility and the ability to
multi-task and have a track record of consistently hitting deadlines.
Key Requirements
* 5+ years well-rounded experience working with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) systems,
including programming, system administration, and database administration
* Practical experience with Unit Testing frameworks and methodologies
* Practical experience with MVC frameworks and RESTful APIs (symfony, magento preferred)
* Strong understanding of and experience with version control systems (SVN, git)
* Basic Linux systems administration skills - understanding how to get around in the shell,
simple scripting and apache vhost management.
* 2+ years experience with Ajax, JavaScript, JSON, and Jquery
* Experience working with Agile methodologies
* Startup experience, a positive and pragmatic attitude, taking the initiative at self-
improvement and self-direction.
