Plowshare/plowdown for downloading from sites like rapidshare/zippyshare, etc.
Weboob for banking/etc? (I'm going to try to write a module for my usbank online banking, wish me luck.)
Yubnub and/or surfraw for launching those text based browsers.
Rclone for downloading stuff from web storage.
Youtube-dl and get-flash-videos for videos.
Aria2 for downloading torrents/magnet-links, axel for big single files over multiple http connections.
Firefox's Reader View is a JS lib, I wrote a tiny wrapper which can be used to clean up pages and view e.g. in lynx
which has a -stdin
option.

To dispatch which application to open which URL, I developed a teeny application called browser to integrate with my newsboat / mpv / w3m workflow.
