Turtle is a textual syntax that allows RDF graphs to be written in a compact and natural text form, with abbreviations for common usage patterns and datatypes. (For turtle graphics, use [turtle-graphics] instead)
**Turtle** (Terse RDF Triple Language) is a syntax for expressing data in the [tag:RDF] language.
Turtle provides levels of compatibility with the existing [tag:n-triples] and [tag:notation3] formats as well as the triple pattern syntax of [tag:sparql].
The W3C Recommendation: <http://www.w3.org/TR/turtle/>
