# Privacy Policy for CaseGrid
Last Updated: 2026-01-12
CaseGrid ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension handles your data.
## 1. Data Collection and Usage
**We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers.**
CaseGrid operates entirely within your browser environment.
* **Web Content:** The extension temporarily accesses the content of the web pages you visit only when you explicitly click the analysis buttons. This text is sent directly to the Google Gemini API for summarization.
* **API Keys:** Your Gemini API Key and License Key are stored locally in your browser (`chrome.storage.local`). We do not have access to these keys.
* **Analysis History:** The summarized data and history are stored locally in your browser (`chrome.storage.local`).
## 2. Third-Party Services
### Google Gemini API
CaseGrid uses Google's Gemini API to generate summaries.
* The text content of the page is sent to Google's servers for processing.
* Please refer to [Google's Generative AI Terms of Service](https://policies.google.com/terms) for details on how they handle data.
## 3. Data Retention
* All data is stored on your local device.
* You can delete your API keys and analysis history at any time through the extension's settings menu ("Clear All Data").
* Uninstalling the extension will permanently remove all stored data.
