Why is Lyxal so Lyxal?

After being spawned by interspacial imps, the Lyxal have been raiding civilization on and off since the dawn of time. A few hundred years ago Lyxal were even a major player in human culture, by far the most populous species that inhabited most of Earth. Some of their writing and art is still visible in many places, and they had plenty of technology at their disposal before they began to go extinct. Scientists are still trying to determine why Lyxal went extinct (perhaps climate change or over-hunting) but some think that it may be related to them being too successful or too dangerous for the humans to successfully keep them in check.

Lyxal have been known to construct cities that are far larger than anything the humans could build, structures that rival even the pyramids. Some of their cities are also self-sufficient and require no outside source of food or water. A few of these cities are still standing today but most of them were destroyed when the Lyxal attacked in their final days. Even though Lyxal cities are now a thing of the past, many relics from those ancient civilizations still remain, such as statues and buildings with Lyxal writing in them.

Lyxal were very aggressive towards other species, including humans. Many theories have been put forth as to why this is, including that they possessed superior technology or that they were simply hungry for conquest. Many scientists believe that the Lyxal did not have a reason to be hostile because they had no real competition for resources or space on Earth (aside from other intelligent species) at the time.

There is some debate over whether all Lyxal became extinct together or if some just became more peaceful and ceased raiding other planets altogether. If they continued raiding other planets, why did they stop? It is possible that they just ran out of places to raid because there was nothing left to raid. However it's also possible that once they started raiding these places, there was a point where they realized that they were going to lose and thus stopped raiding. The truth may never be known but it is likely one of the many mysteries still being debated by scientists today.

The Lyxal are a highly intelligent species, with a culture that has been around for thousands of years. Though they have had many names, the most common being "Lyxel" is a word that was created because of their fascination with language. They can be particularly inscrutable when it comes to other species and their cultures, and most other races endeavor to learn as much about them as possible due to this tendency. As such, Lyxal often end up in more contact with non-Lyxal than with each other. This is especially true since the Lyxal are rarely seen as a whole people but rather as individuals who may come from any place in history and who may have different names at different times.

Relationship to Other Species

The Lyxal are very fond of humans and will often help humans out when they can by making deals with them or providing resources or information to them. They are also very fond of any being who has an interest in learning about them (or at least learning how to pronounce their name) and will do whatever it takes to help them learn. Additionally, since the Lyxal are extremely intelligent, these relationships tend to last for a while and sometimes turn into rather serious friendships or even romances.

Are Lyxals good or evil?

Lyxals are not inherently good or evil to humans, but most are neutral with a few being good and a few being bad, but with good and evil often defined by context rather than the species as a whole. Most Lyxals have no idea what "good" or "evil" means, which is why they're so hard to classify.

How do I talk to Lyxal?

Lyxal speak a language that is similar to English that has evolved over time through human contact (since they were once human). It has its own grammar but feels somewhat similar to English speech in some ways especially because it shares many words with it.

Can I purchase Lyxal weapons?

No. Weapons and armor are illegal to sell or possess in the United States, on Earth, and in most of the universe. The only exceptions are for military use and scientific research.

There are a few theories as to why they’re still around, and all of them are boggling. Some scientists think that they may have been too difficult for humans to kill, and that they simply went extinct because the humans just couldn’t get rid of them. Others, though, think that they may have been purposely safe-cracked by a group of Lyxal that made underground homes where humans couldn’t find them. Another theory suggests that the Lyxal were so advanced that their technology kept them hidden from the humans, only to be found out by accident very recently.

The matter of fact is, most Lyxal scholars are still working on these theories. For now, though, it seems that there are a significant number of Lyxal still alive in some of the more remote pockets of Earth. Scientists are investigating some of these pockets, hoping to learn more about the species and perhaps even prevent their inevitable extinction.

Lyxals are often humanoid, but can take on a variety of forms. They can be any color and vary in size, although over the last few hundred years their range has been narrowed, so that most Lyxal appear to be either very tall or very short. That is not to say they won’t try to take on new forms, as most of the species that still exist today are not like the full Lyxal.

Lyxals are spread across several different universes. They are one of the few intelligent species that has managed to colonize other worlds, although they have largely stayed out of direct contact with any of the other sentient life-forms in these worlds (or even within them).

In Universe A Lyxal can create items that normal humans cannot, and are capable of opening interspacial portals between universes. They also have a large number of magical abilities that humans do not have access to. Since interspacial portals allow humans to travel great distances instantly, Lyxal have learned how to use these portals to travel between universes with little effort.

In Universe B Lyxal can open interspacial portals between universes and have access to several forms of advanced technology (which they had developed prior to their departure from Earth). They sometimes use this technology randomly and often go back and forth between universes to cause trouble for the inhabitants there. This universe has more magic than Universe A and a significantly smaller population; Lyxals in this universe usually prefer not to interact with humans unless they want something. In this universe they mostly stay out of human inhabited areas if at all possible, but occasionally attack important locations such as cities or military bases (this often results in significant damage).

In Universe C Lyxals are present as both aliens and humans and live relatively peacefully (mostly) due their being able to get along with each other (though not always well). They have no ability beyond what humans already have, but do possess several forms of magic which humankind does not. Their technology is somewhat advanced compared to ours; for example they have transporters that can move people across galaxies rather than just over small distances. In general though this universe is not well-suited for their comfort level since it is much more dangerous than Universe A or B.

The Lyxal also had their fair share of conflicts with other lifeforms in the universe. Luckily, they always got the last laugh, and their many raids on human settlements were so devastating that a century after Lyxal's extinction some humans still refer to them as "Lyxals". This is why many humans consider them to be a myth or legend.

Is Lyxal Evil?

This may come as a surprise, but Lyxals are not evil. They have no intention to harm humans whatsoever. It is their nature to raid and destroy civilizations for resources. They do this because they were placed on Earth in that manner by the interspacial imps and because they are mindless and driven by instinct, they simply do what comes naturally to them. There are several theories about why the interspacial imps chose Lyxals in the first place. Perhaps they were just the first species that came into existence on Earth, or perhaps they needed a species that would hunt down other species and destroy them for food. Whatever the case may be, humans destroyed them all and now they are extinct, but at least we have learned from their mistakes and placed some safeguards against such a catastrophic event again occurring.

Culture

Lyxal culture is anything but uniform. Most species exhibit at least one trait in common: they are all very intelligent. A lot of the time this intelligence comes in the form of an extreme lack of common sense, but that depends on the individual Lyxal and not necessarily its species. For example, some are very bad planners and some have trouble communicating due to their rather unique language. Many of them are just downright stupid, but there are exceptions like Lyxal-2 and Lyxal-3 which are quite clever despite being members of completely different species (they share a common ancestor though). A few species have even developed sentience; thus they are all categorized amongst society as "intelligent".

Most Lyxal do not have much interest in politics or world affairs, however most do have some sort of fascination in them due to their close proximity (or possible past) with humans and other sapient species. They don't really understand why humans would want to fight so much, or why they care so much about which color skinned sapients live where but they do appreciate any form of recognition that can be gained from humanity for their assistance during the war with Vinzia (the Vinzian Empire). This is reflected in many of their artworks; most notably their war propaganda posters which detail various battles between Vinzia's forces and the Fiend Army. These posters also graphically show how humanity was suffering under Vinzia's occupation. A few even depict Vinzian atrocities against humanity such as mass executions. The Fiend Army's propaganda posters were always very similar since they were created by the same artists on both sides (though
