LinkMason Privacy Policy

LinkMason is a Chrome extension for managing backlink opportunities, analyzing web pages, drafting AI-assisted comments, and optionally synchronizing records with Feishu Base.

Data LinkMason handles

LinkMason may handle the following data only to provide features initiated by the user:

  • Product profiles, keywords, public contact emails, notes, filters, and extension settings.
  • API credentials that the user enters for an AI provider or Feishu.
  • URLs and publicly visible website content that the user asks LinkMason to analyze.
  • Backlink opportunity records imported by the user or synchronized with the user's Feishu Base.
  • AI-generated comments and translations.

Local storage

Product profiles, settings, API credentials, filters, and locally imported records are stored in chrome.storage.local on the user's device. LinkMason does not operate a developer-owned server and does not send this local data to the developer.

Users can remove locally stored data by deleting it in LinkMason or uninstalling the extension.

Data transmission

LinkMason transmits data only when the user invokes a feature that requires an external service:

  • When the user requests AI generation or AI product completion, the relevant page excerpt and prompt are sent over HTTPS to the AI provider selected by the user: Google Gemini, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter.
  • When the user configures Feishu synchronization and invokes a synchronization action, backlink records and the user's Feishu credentials are sent over HTTPS directly to Feishu.

The external providers process and retain data according to their own terms and privacy policies. LinkMason does not use website content or generated text to train models.

Data sharing and sale

The developer does not sell user data. Data is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to LinkMason's single purpose. Data is shared only with the service selected and configured by the user to perform the requested feature.

Permissions

  • activeTab, tabs, and scripting let LinkMason inspect the active page, analyze links, and fill a comment form only after a user action.
  • storage saves extension configuration and records locally.
  • sidePanel displays the LinkMason workspace.
  • Website access lets LinkMason read a user-specified product website and communicate with the configured AI and Feishu APIs.

LinkMason does not read browser history, cookies, or passwords and does not submit website forms automatically.

Security

All supported external service requests use HTTPS. Credentials remain in local extension storage and are sent only to the corresponding provider selected by the user.
