One month of pissnet
FOR IMMEDIATE PISSING - PISSNET IRC NETWORK
Well it has been like a month here. Pissnet is the fastest growing anarchist[1] network with over 100 servers and opers. Who knew you could create a network like this in a few days.
Building up an IRC network to this scale in this short a time period has been a tough challenge, but also incredibly rewarding.
It would not have been possible without the kind users with an interest in the PISS community.
We have had a very eventful month. Our first month 42,552+[8](might not be accurate) G-Lines have been issued at the time of this blog post. We even juped a few disruptive servers.
Pissnet takes de-centralization very seriously. The network topography is nothing but beautiful chaos, with just 16 servers crossing the Atlantic Ocean alone[10].
The network has a wide variety of hardware, 108 servers on x86_64, 12 on arm64, 1 on ppc64le, 1 on s390x, and a few other architectures[9].
The OS's are a variety with the majority being linux based, and a single server running Windows[9].
We use various versions of UnrealIRCd 5.x, with some of us running directly from git[9].
Pissnet has been providing free QA testing for UnrealIRCd.
Pissnet has found multiple bugs[2][3][5][6] and many more. Including two major desync bugs the network has experienced since the creation of the network[4][7].
