1. Introduction

DeclutterGPT (“the Extension”) is designed to help you bulk-delete or archive your ChatGPT conversations on chatgpt.com. We value your privacy and are committed to being transparent about the data we process and how it is handled.

2. Data Collection and Usage

Bearer Token:
The Extension intercepts the Authorization header (Bearer token) from chatgpt.com solely to authenticate your deletion or archiving requests. This token is stored temporarily in your browser’s local storage and in-memory during a session. It is used exclusively for making API requests and is never transmitted or stored on any external servers.

Conversation IDs:
When you select conversations for deletion or archiving, the Extension temporarily stores the corresponding conversation IDs in memory. These IDs are used only to process your bulk actions and are cleared immediately after the operation completes. No conversation ID or related data is transmitted to any external servers.

3. Data Storage and Retention

  • Local Storage and Memory: All data (Bearer token and conversation IDs) is stored only within your browser, using Chrome’s local storage and in-memory variables, for the duration of your session.
  • Ephemeral Use: Once a deletion or archiving action is completed, the temporary data is cleared. No persistent storage or external transmission of your data occurs.

4. Disclosure of Information

  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or disclose any of your data with third parties.
  • Legal Disclosure: We will only disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal process.

5. Security

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data using secure local storage and in-memory processing, please be aware that no system can guarantee absolute security. However, our design ensures that your sensitive information remains confined to your local device.

6. Children’s Privacy

DeclutterGPT is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review the policy regularly.
