The information you provide is used for the sole purpose of providing you with book recommendations. Here’s how it works:
Your description and list of read books are sent securely over HTTPS to the Google Gemini API to generate a list of new book recommendations.
The titles you search for in the "similar books" field are sent securely over HTTPS to the Google Books API to find matching books.
Your data is not used for any other purpose, such as tracking or advertising.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
To provide its core functionality, Book Scout shares the non-personal data you provide with Google's services.
Google (Gemini API & Google Books API): Your prompts (description and read books) are sent to Google to generate recommendations. This usage is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, trade, or share your information with any other third parties.

Book Scout is designed with your privacy as a priority.
No Persistent Storage: The extension does not store any of your data. All information (your description, uploaded files, and selected books) exists only for your current active session. When you close the browser or the side panel, this information is permanently discarded.
