| Same | |
| The Sheep x Haato storyline is kind of what brought me in, beyond just highlights | |
| [Dead] Narwhal Last Thursday at 12:22 | |
| I prefer the Aqua / Shion feud drama. | |
| GallantChef Last Thursday at 12:22 | |
| That one was a classic | |
| And it ended up with a bang, heh | |
| [Dead] Narwhal Last Thursday at 12:22 | |
| It's still ongoing, I think. XD | |
| S2 of feud 2020. <333 | |

| It occurs to me that we're discussing this as if hololive was rasslin'. | |
| GallantChef Last Thursday at 12:24 | |
| Yeah, I've been intentionally using the same language for both things | |

| There are productions/companies, talents, heels, faces, kayfabe, storylines, stables, shoots, jobbers/jobs, marks (like myself), selling, being over, etc. | |
| I've been meaning to write an essay about this for my blag | |
| I think Matsuri and Haato are the best at selling, btw | |
| Rushia too | |
| They're like the Lex Lugers of vtubers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-SeKGJT7E0 | |

| Whereas when Fubuki sells, it's just like "kyaa~" | |
| [Dead] Narwhal Last Thursday at 12:32 | |
| I don't know what most of those are. | |
| GallantChef Last Thursday at 12:35 | |
| Heels are the assholes of a given storyline. So in the Aqua x Shion feud, Aqua was the heel. Faces are the good girls who can do no wrong. Kayfabe is the suspension of disbelief that separates what happens in character and outside of character. A jobber is someone who also fucks up or loses to make the others look better. Jobbing is doing just that. A mark is someone who superchats or subscribes to the talents (the vtubers). Selling is acting like something that happens to you is real, like going "OW" when someone hits you, or screaming when you fall. Being over is having a bunch of subs and fans. | |

| ...Does this mean Coco is the CM Punk of Hololive? | |
| GallantChef Last Thursday at 12:40 | |
| Holy shit, lmfao | |
| Honestly, Coco is the queen of kayfabe | |
| Despite slipping out of character and not following the established conventions of her company, she's seriously way over | |
| Plus her colleagues are always willing to work with her on her silly ideas | |
| Like, all of the 4th gen owe some of their gimmicks to Coco | |
| Itsumademo Tora Last Thursday at 12:42 | |
| I think part of her appeal is that she ends up on both sides of the real/fake divide, and you're never quite sure how much of that is intentional | |
| GallantChef Last Thursday at 12:42 | |
| Watame-chan owes her for the kszk counter, PP-Tenshi owes being called PP Tenshi to her, Luna's English classroom, and what else... | |
| Yeah | |
| She's truly amazing |
