Welcome to Screensharp ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension, Screensharp, collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
To provide you with our services, we collect the following types of information:
- Personally Identifiable Information: When you log in via Google OAuth, we collect basic profile information (such as your name and email address) necessary to authenticate your account and manage your free or Pro subscription status.
- Website Content (Screenshots): To function as a screenshot editor, the extension captures images of the active browser tabs you select. These images are processed locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or transmit your screenshots to our servers.
- Extension Settings: We store your UI preferences (like dark mode toggles, recent screenshot scratchpad, and background choices) locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.
We use the information we collect strictly to operate the extension and fulfill its single purpose:
- Authentication: To verify your identity and unlock Pro features via Supabase.
- Core Functionality: To allow you to capture, edit, and beautify screenshots directly within your browser.
We respect your privacy and adhere strictly to the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies. We certify that:
- We do not sell or transfer your user data to third parties.
- We do not use or transfer your user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.
- We do not use or transfer your user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Your screenshots and editor settings are stored locally on your device. Authentication data is securely managed via Supabase and Google OAuth, utilizing industry-standard encryption protocols.
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information (name and email) associated with your account. You can clear your local extension data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser's local storage.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, please reach out to us on our GitHub repository or via the Chrome Web Store support tab.
