You go to Apple Final Cut Pro page and download again. You can download as many times as you want as long as the version is different. If the version has not changed since your last download, you need to wait until they update to a newer version.

Also, you now need Tahoe to download FCP. If you don't have Tahoe you need to upgrade and then download FCP.

FIXED by running the updated command to wipe the new .ffuserdata file location:

mv -vf ~/Library/Application\ Support/.ffuserdata ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.FinalCutTrial/Data/Library/Application\ Support/.ffuserdata ~/.Trash

Any idea how to make this work on FCP 12. I think the app is now only available as a creator suite and in app store rather than a standalone installer file

No, FCP is still available as a stand alone app. You need to update your system to the new one: Tahoe.

I dont think so. FCP 12 is not available as a standalone app no trial anymore from FCP12

sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.FinalCutTrial/Data/Library/Application\ Support/.ffuserdata
could be worked just like in linux.
