mv -vf ~/Library/Application\ Support/.ffuserdata ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.FinalCutTrial/Data/Library/Application\ Support/.ffuserdata ~/.Trashthis is the command in the gist

No, FCP is still available as a stand alone app. You need to update your system to the new one: Tahoe.
I dont think so. FCP 12 is not available as a standalone app no trial anymore from FCP12
sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.FinalCutTrial/Data/Library/Application\ Support/.ffuserdata
could be worked just like in linux.
