Thom's Investment Time

Thom's Investment Time

While I don't get a traditional 20% time like the majority of the company due to recurring Podcast / Upcase deadlines; I do still try to work in time to my schedule to invest in myself, thoughtbot, and the community!

I wish all thoughtbotters were aware of our YouTube channel! We presently have over 3100 subscribers, and average over 50k views per month.

I shoot the lightning talks, AMAs and events in Boston, as well as edit those that come in from the other offices. We feature Meetup event sessions, lightning talks, live video Podcasts / AMA's, Weekly Iteration Promos, and an assortment of other playful videos that cover everything from bloopers to conference montages.

I participate in the Wistia online community for video production and marketing, representing thoughtbot by sharing my 10+ years of professional video experience, and participating with a community that can help fix problems / issues I fight myself.

    • Try Ruby
  • Books (less successful here, but made a dent in Ruby, the Hard Way and attempted Maybe Haskell)
  • thoughtbot.com: Changes to podcasts page and linking in to podcasts from the 'What We Think' section of the home page.
