I really love what Podfest has done for the community over the past few years; it brings together some of the biggest and most entertaining names in podcasting and puts them under one roof with their biggest fans, in perhaps the largest celebration the medium currently has to offer! One of the greatest side effects that has resulted is attracting a community of fans who are also podcasters themselves! The atmosphere of networking and collaboration, as well as the existence of the Squarespace lounge to conduct on-site interviews, and the talks in the Santa Monica room, are a great acknowledgment of the desire to not only have a festival of performances, but also a place to discuss the technical, statistical, and business advancements being made in podcasting.
That being said, I don't know if you guys were planning on doing an open call for proposals; but I had a few ideas for talks that I would love to present at this year's Podfest to help expand that latter mission. I work full time producing, editing, and expanding the thoughtbot family of tech podcasts; and as more people are able to forge careers in podcasting, I feel that either one of these would be a helpful addition to the instructional talks offered at Podfest!
