The sole purpose of this extension is to provide a convenience for users of the PaperTrail web application. It allows users to open documents and attachments directly in their local desktop applications (such as Microsoft Word or Adobe Reader) instead of using the standard browser download process.

To perform its function, the extension temporarily handles the following information:
Session Authentication Cookie (JSESSIONID): The extension reads the user's current session cookie for the PaperTrail website. This is necessary to authenticate file download requests made by the companion native application. This cookie is used only for this purpose and is not stored or shared. Website Content (Document Information): The extension reads document IDs and filenames from the HTML of the PaperTrail website when a user clicks a "View" button. This information is required to construct the correct download URL for the specific file the user wishes to open. This data is not stored or used for any other purpose. 3. How We Use Information
The information handled by the extension is used exclusively to:
Construct a valid download URL for a document. Pass that URL and the session cookie to the companion native desktop application. Allow the native application to download the file and open it using the system's default program. 4. Data Storage and Sharing
The DXS Document Viewer extension does not store, save, or transmit any user data to any third-party servers. All information is handled ephemerally to facilitate the file download and is immediately discarded.
