What would you like to do?
Want to access command from view model to RoomGroupUser Control
Used Proxy as Static resource at app.xaml
<BooleanToVisibilityConverter x:Key="BooleanToVisibilityConverter"/>
<model:BindingProxy x:Key="proxy"/>
Viewmodel has command I want to bind on Button
public ICommand cmdExpand
get { return new DelegateCommand(Expand); }
Used viewmodel as Datacontext fro whole TabItem so I can access it for all child elements
RoomGroupControl generated using listview.
<ListView Name="lstRoomGroupList" ItemsSource="{Binding roomGroupList,Mode=TwoWay}" SelectedItem="{Binding selectdeGroup,Mode=TwoWay}"
HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Background="Transparent"
BorderBrush="LightGray" BorderThickness="0,0,0,0" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Visible"
Margin="0,0,0,0" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Hidden" OverridesDefaultStyle="False">
<UserConrols:RoomGroupControl Grid.Row="2"/>
In RoomGroupContrl used BindProxy as
<Button Grid.Row="1" Command="{Binding Data.cmdExpand,Source={StaticResource proxy}}" Margin="7,0,1,0" Width="12" Height="12" Background="Transparent" BorderThickness="0" VerticalAlignment="Top"></Button>
Here is code for BindingProxy Class
public class BindingProxy : Freezable
#region Overrides of Freezable
protected override Freezable CreateInstanceCore()
return new BindingProxy();
public object Data
get { return (object)GetValue(DataProperty); }
set { SetValue(DataProperty, value); }
// Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for Data. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc...
public static readonly DependencyProperty DataProperty =
DependencyProperty.Register("Data", typeof(object), typeof(BindingProxy), new UIPropertyMetadata(null));
