| Privacy Policy for Upwork Radar | |
| Effective Date: May 5, 2026 | |
| 1. Introduction | |
| Upwork Radar ("we," "our," or "the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data within the extension. Our primary goal is to provide real-time job notifications without compromising your personal information. | |
| 2. Data Collection and Usage | |
| Local Storage only: The Extension stores your user-defined keywords and a history of job IDs directly on your local device using the chrome.storage API. | |
| No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII), such as your name, email address, Upwork credentials, or browsing history, to external servers. | |
| Browsing Data: The Extension only interacts with active Upwork tabs (upwork.com) to identify new job postings based on your set criteria. This data is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded or shared. | |
| 3. Use of Permissions | |
| To function effectively, the Extension requires the following permissions: | |
| Alarms: To schedule periodic background checks for new jobs. | |
| Notifications: To alert you when a match is found. | |
| Storage: To remember your keyword settings and prevent duplicate notifications. | |
| Tabs & Host Permissions: To detect and read the job feed on Upwork pages while you are using the site. | |
| 4. Data Sharing and Disclosure | |
| No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent user data to third parties. | |
| Limited Use Compliance: Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. | |
| 5. Third-Party Content | |
| The Extension does not use remote code or third-party tracking scripts. All logic is contained within the local package installed from the Chrome Web Store. | |
| 6. Changes to This Policy | |
| We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. | |
