OneDevMinute

My current process of #OneDevMinute which I intend to automate and make it a bit better. It takes me about 2 hours to all of this for a one #OneDevMinute video.

  1. Think of what to make the video on and plot it
  2. Record the video
  3. Extract audio and process in Adobe Audition and then back in Screenflow
  4. Then process the video + audio in Screenflow (using a template to save time in the starting animation)
  5. Produce the video
  6. Write a post for upcoming #OneDevMinute site + Newsletter
  7. Convert that to a Gist
  8. Write a description for YouTube
  9. Write a description for Dev .to
  10. Write a description for Twitter
  11. Write a description for Facebook
  12. Write a description for Instagram
  13. Write a description for LinkedIn
  14. Upload at YouTube
  15. Take the link from YouTube and add it to the description of all the platforms
  16. Upload video to Dev .to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  17. Share all of these links
  18. Add of these links to a sheet to track the data on these platforms
  19. Sadly, I have a very bad internet nowadays so it takes 10 mins to upload a 100 MB video
  20. Finalize and post all of this to all platforms, work a little on making Newsletter a reality (to launch it next month)

All of this takes two hours. And I do it at as fast speed as I can. I am learning where most of my audience is. I am slowly automating the process. The description thing is a huge time loss, and I have started to pick up on trends on what I need β€” slowly writing a script to only write one description and generate other descriptions from it.

It's a process. I am investing a lot in it. Many folks like it β€” so, I hope it plays out well in the end. πŸ™‚
