The smell of science comes from an open door to the east. The sounds of power tools and laughter come from the door to the west. You can go down the stairs."

The description of 2nd Floor Hall is "You are in the middle of the upstairs hall. In the distance to the north and south you see more hallway and stairwells. To the west you see a mysterious classroom. To the east is an open door from which strange mathematical symbols float out into the air. The clanking of chains can be heard from within."

The description of North 2nd Floor Hall is "Students gather in this hallway. The sounds of birthday celebrations come from a nearby cluster of students at a locker.
