Installation instructions for OSCON TensorFlow workshop

Please follow the installation instructions here. As the instructions note, you can install locally (use of a virtual environment highly recommended) or use a docker container.

If you're on Windows, the docker container will work better for you.

It says 'Install Conda + Python 3 to use as your local virtual environment' but the download and setup instructions on the Tensorflow website provide options for Python 2.7 and Python 3.5. So, do we need to install a Python 3 environment or is Python 2 okay? thanks.

I believe that 2.7 should work as well. (Conda makes it easy to switch, also).
