Go to the very bottom of the sidebar, find and click the Settings button (its the gear-shaped one), then select Hide Sidebar; thatll make both the ticker and the chat interface disappear. .. Any other suggestions? No icon on top right to click as so many suggest. Its also possible that her screen resolution simply wont allow for a large enough browser window. If you do like I do though, and haveseparatedyour friends status updates from the pages you follow, and just use those lists (refer to how to separate your newsfeed here)You wont ever see the ticker, as you are no longer using the homepage as your source for status updates (unless of course the Chat Sidebar is open) If you dont want to see someones updates in the ticker, go to their profile, and put your mouse over the subscribed link at the top right of the page. I have searched several websites via Google and your suggestion is the only one that worked and made sense. It is, in fact, THE core functionality that made Facebook so cool years ago. How does News Feed decide which stories to show? The stories that show in your News Feed are influenced by your connections and activity on Facebook. If you cant find, you may want to increase the resolution of your screen, so the entire FB page becomes tiny and there is a lot of room on both sides of the home page. After all, who needs a constant stream of friend activity scrolling in the sidebar? After awhile, though, I too began to miss itand besides, it seems that Facebook make a few key changes to its secret sauce for the news feed ticker. Way to go fb some of us actually liked it. So, if you are missing the Facebook ticker, and you would like to have it, find more people to friend on Facebook, or make your current friends interact more.
