The Malware & Vulnerability Scanner extension collects and processes the following data to provide its security scanning services:

  1. Website Content

    • URLs and webpage content for security scanning
    • File hashes for malware detection
    • This information is only used for real-time security analysis
  2. User Activity

    • Scan requests and results
    • This information is stored locally on your device only
  3. Technical Data

    • IP addresses (as part of URL scanning)
    • This information is used solely for security verification

Data Storage

  • All scan history and settings are stored locally in your browser
  • No personal data is stored on external servers
  • Scan results are cached locally to improve performance

Third-Party Services

This extension uses the following third-party APIs for security scanning:

  • VirusTotal API for malware scanning
  • Google Safe Browsing API for URL verification
  • NVD Database for CVE information

These services receive only the necessary data for scanning (URLs, file hashes) and do not receive any personal information.
