Privacy Policy for RRG Chart Assistant

Effective date: February 23, 2026

RRG Chart Assistant is a Chrome extension that detects stock symbols from the active tab and renders Relative Rotation Graphs (RRG) in the extension popup.

Data We Process

We process the following categories of data:

  • Website content and page context: limited page text, URL/path, page title, and metadata used to identify a stock symbol on the current tab.
  • Web history context: current tab URL/title and tab state needed to keep detected stock context in sync.
  • User settings stored locally: selected stocks, benchmark, timeframe, and last detected symbol/context.
  • Usage telemetry: event data such as chart load outcomes and selected chart parameters.

How Data Is Used

We use data only to:

  • Detect stock symbols from supported websites.
  • Fetch market data and render RRG charts.
  • Save user preferences and extension state locally.
  • Monitor extension reliability and improve functionality.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

The extension sends requests to:

  • Yahoo Finance APIs (query1.finance.yahoo.com, query2.finance.yahoo.com) for symbol search and chart/quote data.
  • Google Analytics endpoint (www.google-analytics.com) for telemetry events.

We do not sell personal data.

Data Storage

  • Extension state and preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local on the user device.
  • We do not operate our own backend for user account storage.

Remote Code

The extension does not execute remote code. Network requests are used only to fetch API data and telemetry.

User Choices

Users can:

  • Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data processing.
  • Clear extension data through browser extension storage controls.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed to children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
