Increase rpc slot count up to 64 or 128. For Rhel5 add this option to /etc/modprobe.conf

# cat /etc/modprobe.d/sunrpc.conf
options sunrpc tcp_slot_table_entries=64

Tune network stack

Increase HW buffer sizes, ex:

options be2net rx_frag_size=8192
