Hey again!
You both claim, explicitly and implicitly, to be experts on congestion so thought I'd run this by you.
I'm going to the jazz fest concert on the waterfront tonight. Wondering how I should get there.
Should I take a car, which:
- takes a lot of extra time I could spend doing other things, like being productive!
- factually contributes to congestion
- emits greenhouse gases
- puts extra wear on our way-too-expensive roads
- does not align with the city's and likely JRTA report's priorities/recommendations
- takes parking from others
- loses money I could be spending elsewhere to car payments, parking, insurance, gas, etc
- isolates me from my neighbours, visitors, other people on the street, etc
- generally costs society in various ways
- makes me a true Nova Scotian?
Or should I take my bike, which:
- gets me right to the gate
- saves me a lot of time which makes me more productive!
- factually does not contribute to congestion
- does not emit greenhouse gases
- does not put measurable wear on roads
- aligns with the city's and likely JRTA report's priorities/recommendations
- does not taking vehicle parking from anyone else
- keeps money I can spend on things other than car stuff
- gives me chances to interact with folks I come across, even if it's just a smile
- gets me outside even more
- generally benefits society in various ways
- makes me an false Nova Scotian?
I know there's not a lot of time to respond but wanted to give you a chance to weigh in.
Though if the answer is that I should take my bike that would raise more questions around recent events.
Thanks!
-Dan
ps: stop interfering.
