- Everyone starts with "$100" to bid on teams.
- Everyone will draft 5 teams total.
- You can only bid in whole dollar amounts. The minimum bid for any team is $1.
- Your maximum bid on any team is your remaining money minus $1 for each additional team you still need to draft. E.G. if you've already drafted one team for $40, you have $60 remaining, so your maximum bid on a team is $57 (leaving $3 for three more teams).
- At the start of the draft we'll randomly set a draft order for everyone drafting.
- Taking turns starting with the first person and going in a circular order (1,2,..5,6,1..6,1..), that person will nominate a team for drafting from the remaining undrafted teams and must make an initial bid of at least $1. Then going in turn order people can make higher bids, with the highest bidder winning that team.
- 6a. Everyone must pass (not make a new higher bid) consecutively for the auction to end.
- 6b. When making a bid, you must bid at least $1 higher than the current highest bid.
- Once you have drafted 5 teams, you cannot nominate or bid on any further teams, even if you have money left over.
- You score 3 points for every match one of your teams wins.
- You score 1 point for every match one of your teams ties (group stage only).
- You get 2 bonus points for each one of your teams that makes it out of the group stage.
- You get 1 bonus point for each one of your teams that wins its group.
- The winner is whoever earns the most total points by the end of the cup.
- 5a. In case of a tie, total goals scored by all your teams will be used as a tiebreaker.
- 5b. If necessary, total goals scored against all your teams (lower is better) will be the second tiebreaker.
- 5c. If there is still a tie, the tied players will split the prize pool
