Hopes,
dashed in the gun hands
of a mentally-ill dissenter
lady liberty gazed upon Florida
and creid at teh Februrary
bitter and cold in its death grip

Hopes,
stopped in an autocratic lobbyist
dreaded prison haze
no freedom for who
eatrned it in their vote


Hopes,
awoke stoked by history lessons
of our founding fathers
now retaught by the youngest
not yet age to vote

Hoopes,
rekindled by children
reborn through tradegy
with the cry of
no more
no more
no more


Hopes,
our democratic futre
no longer is it dark
lady liberty smilling
at the democracy toruch
rekindled and relit
by kids of Parkland
