setting up minikube on a new Centos 7.8 VM
  1. set up network with nmcli/nmtui/whatever
  2. sudo yum update
  3. sudo yum remove docker docker-client docker-client-latest docker-common docker-latest docker-latest-logrotate docker-logrotate docker-engine
  4. sudo yum install -y yum-utils
  5. sudo yum-config-manager --add-repo https://download.docker.com/linux/centos/docker-ce.repo
  6. sudo yum install docker-ce docker-ce-cli containerd.io
  7. sudo systemctl --now enable docker
  8. sudo docker run --rm hello-world
  9. curl -LO https://storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/$(curl -s https://storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/stable.txt)/bin/linux/amd64/kubectl
  10. kubectl version --client
  11. curl -Lo minikube https://storage.googleapis.com/minikube/releases/latest/minikube-linux-amd64
  12. sudo install minikube /usr/local/bin/
  13. minikube config set driver docker
  14. logoff/login
  15. minikube start
