Summary

We’re looking for an engineering technical leader to help define the future of our Data Platform for our Integrated Security architecture.
The team is building a Threat Intelligence API Server to integrate all Cisco Security Products and third parties data.
Together, we’ll improve the life of Cisco security customers as they seamlessly ingest and query Threat Intelligence data using a unified model.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of a Functional Programming Language: Clojure, Haskell, Purescript
  • Strong programming, debugging, and problem solving skills
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka and Redis.

Description

As a Data Services Engineer, you will invent new features and take them through the software development process,
spanning from prototyping, coding, debugging, and through to shipping and communicating with all Cisco Security Teams.
You will empathize with the people who will use the platform and listen to their feedback to improve existing services and help decide where the team’s attention should go next.
Throughout the process, you will work closely with the rest of the team and with other teams, including all Cisco security Products.

Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science, or related field, or experience with software engineering.

Integration API Services Technical Leader

The team is building API Services to integrate all Cisco Security Products and third parties Threat Intelligence data.
Together, we’ll improve the life of Cisco security customers as they seamlessly access and use their products using a unified API interface.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of a Functional Programming Language: Clojure, Haskell, Purescript
  • Strong programming, debugging, and problem solving skills
  • Experience in designing Restful APIs, GraphQL, Stream Processing, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka and Redis.

The API services team defines the future of our Data Platform and Integrated Security architecture.

The APIs of SecureX and Ciso Threat Response propose to federate Threat Intelligence Data and services.
We define the Cisco Theat Intelligence Model that enables our products to share and publish data in a unified model.
On top of this model we develop APIs that offer protocols to securily exchange and federate Threat Intelligence data.
The API services team leverages the power of cybersecurity data, privacy and identity management to its full potential as an actionable Threat Knowledge Base.
As a Data Services Engineer, you will implement new features and take them through the software development process, spanning from prototyping, coding, debugging, and through to shipping and communicating with all Cisco Security Teams.
You will be at the core of Cisco security and need a strong appetite for the ingredients of product quality: documentation, tests, code reviews and team work.

Integration API Services Software Engineer

Summary

We’re looking for an engineer to help define the future of the API services for our Integrated Security architecture.
The team is building an API Gateway to integrate Security Products with a unified platform.
Together, we’ll improve the life of Cisco security customers to protect their business from any security threat.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

  • Strong programming, debugging, and problem solving skills

  • Production experience with Clojure

  • Experience with web programming

  • Familiarity developing on Unix/Linux

  • Willingness to own features from beginning to end

  • Bonus: Background or training in information security (SANS, NICCS, STIX)

  • Bonus: Experience with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka and Redis

  • Bonus: An interest or experience in any of Functional Programming, Distributed Systems or Event-Driven Architectures
