Theatre TA6 Quiz DUE Aug. 22
This will count as a “quiz” and will be collected. Only one sheet of paper but give this some time and thought!
Your Enculturation
Draw and write influences on your world BEFORE YOU TURNED 20 years old. Be able to describe your drawing to your group for 5 - 7 minutes per person. Some will be shared with the entire class.
On ONE sheet of paper, write five words that depict the home and heritage you were born into.
For me those words might be Mayflower(British), middle class, WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant)…. For that I might draw a wasp, liberal, Midwestern
What was going on in the world around the year you were born that in influenced you and your world view? (check it out on the web if you’re not sure) Draw them on same sheet of paper(or use words)
For me that might be cold war, man walking on moon, civil rights busing, women’s lib, Kent State,
Vietnam war.
World events that impacted your life before you were 20
For me that might be Nixon resigning, Vietnam war, Nuclear Arms Race
Entertainment that influenced who you were. Did you recognize yourself in the shows/ music depicted? Name or draw them on that sheet as well.
Any entertainment that had folks of other races, ethnicities vastly different from your upbringing…. Draw or name them on that sheet as well.
Three major events or people that shaped who you are – Draw or Name them on the sheet as well.
How have you been taught shame through your enculturation (family/society)?
How have you been taught guilt through your enculturation (family/society)
