Privacy Policy for XScan
- Introduction
XScan ("we", "us", or "our") is a browser extension designed to help users analyze and summarize content on X (Twitter). We are committed to protecting your privacy.
- Data Collection and Usage
Personal Information: We do NOT collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or address.
We record the user's IP address solely for security purposes, such as preventing DDoS attacks and ensuring service stability for our backend API.
We collect anonymous system information (OS name, OS version, and extension version) to analyze compatibility issues and optimize the UI display across different platforms.
Browsing Data: XScan only accesses the content of the tweets you are currently viewing on x.com to provide summarization and analysis features. This data is processed in real-time.
Cookies: We may access your X.com session cookies solely to authenticate requests to the X API on your behalf. We do not store or transmit these cookies to any external servers other than X.com.
- Data Sharing and Disclosure
AI Services: If you use the AI summary feature, the tweet content may be sent to third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) for processing. This data is used only for generating the summary and is not stored by us.
No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to any third parties.
-
Data Retention We do not store your browsing data on our servers. All analysis is performed either locally or through ephemeral API calls.
