Almost functional call for papers

Update 29/02/2016

The call is now closed. Thanks to eveyone that submitted

What is this?

This is a lightweight call for speakers for "Almost Functional", a one-off, free, evening event in Edinburgh on the 14th of April.

Please spread this URL far and wide.

The 14th is at the end of WadlerFest. If you are attending WadlerFest and would like to present at Almost Functional but were planning to leave Edinburgh before the 14th then we may be able to help with accomodation costs.

Audience

We expect a small, non-academic audience from the local tech community with a wide range of backgrounds.

This is an evening event with an informal atmosphere.

Talks

We'd be interested to hear about any topics that are likely to be interesting, but unfamiliar, for our audience.

Of particular interest would be talks on functional programming, type theory and alternate programming languages that are both accessible and entertaining.

Talks may be of any length up to 45 minutes. Let us know how much time you'd like in your response.

How to submit

e-mail henry.coles@gmail.com with your suggestion

Submissions do not need to be any more heavy weight than :-

"I'd like to talk about x for x minutes"

We'll get back to you quickly with any questions.

When all our timeslots are filled, the call for papers will close.

Code of conduct

We'd like an event that everyone can enjoy and have adopted the code of conduct here.
