Initiative/Ideas (applies to other countries as well):
*Reach out to Universities
*Get more people to learn about GSoC
*Create excitement around release parties
*Organize Hackfests/Workshops
NOTE: Gifts/swags are popular and can plan an important role to get people excited
about a project/product.

Challenge: Keep contributors as many students move on to jobs within the proprietary
software industry and stop being active contributors involved in the community.

Open Source alliance Kaiyuanshe (http://www.kaiyuanshe.cn/) established in 2014

*Open Source contribution survey
*Summer of Code like program
*Online hackathons
*Provide Docker image based developer environments
*Open Source gallery - provide Docker images of FOSS projects
Misc
-There is a large demand for Swags in Asia
-Can the foundation make the budget request & reimbursement process
for small to medium sized event's easier?
-Would be great with more contribution mentors based in Asia
General team to-do:
-Create GNOME.Asia calendar schedule.
-Keep contact with local FOSS communities and organizations in Asia including: Mozilla, OpenSuse
and Linux Foundation Japan.
