| # Raydar Privacy Policy | |
| Last updated: May 6, 2026 | |
| Raydar is a Chrome extension for subscribing to and reading RSS and Atom feeds. | |
| ## Data Stored Locally | |
| Raydar stores the following data in Chrome storage: | |
| - Subscribed feed URLs, titles, site URLs, and source icons. | |
| - Cached feed articles and readable article content. | |
| - Settings such as theme, language, source layout, refresh interval, and article retention limit. | |
| - Favorite state for articles. | |
| - Feed URLs you choose to ignore from automatic subscription prompts. | |
| This data stays in your browser storage. Raydar does not require a Raydar account and does not upload this data to a Raydar server. | |
| ## Network Requests | |
| Raydar makes direct requests from the extension to: | |
| - Feed URLs you subscribe to or import. | |
| - Article URLs you open in the reader when Raydar extracts readable article content. | |
| - Websites you visit when feed detection is enabled, so Raydar can find RSS or Atom links. | |
| - Image and icon URLs referenced by subscribed feeds or articles. | |
| Those websites may receive normal request information such as your IP address, browser request metadata, and the requested URL. | |
| ## Data Sharing | |
| Raydar does not sell personal data and does not include third-party analytics in the extension. | |
| If you open an external support or sponsor link, that external site handles the visit under its own privacy policy. | |
| ## User Controls | |
| You can: | |
| - Add, edit, or remove subscribed sources in Settings. | |
| - Disable automatic feed detection in Settings. | |
| - Export or import subscriptions with OPML. | |
| - Export or import a full JSON backup. | |
| - Remove the extension to delete extension-managed local data from Chrome. |
