Turing Technical Network

Turing Technical Network

Hardware

  • So it's been mentioned that Turing upgraded to a fiber network. Can you tell us more about that?
  • What Wi-Fi hardware does Turing use?

Troubleshooting

  • I remember back when I was at Turing the network was notoriously known for being slow, dropping connection, etc.
    • What was the main issue there and how was it solved?
    • What steps did you have to take in order to narrow down the problem?
  • How do you troubleshoot network slowness in general?
  • What are some issues that you would still like to address, if any?

Change over time

  • How has the network changed over time?
    • "We started with X access points, now we have Y access points"

Bandwidth

  • How much bandwidth does Turing use?
  • How much speed / bandwidth does a coding school need?
    • Does that change with the number of students?
    • What types of network traffic do you have?
  • Does Turing filter the network at all?
    • Do you prevent things like Netflix, Hulu, streaming or other bandwidth hogs?
