Welcome to the first episode of season 3 of the stream of random, refined. Season one will be reserved for draft episodes and totally random noise, season two for guest episodes, and this will be for higher quality episodes. We are going to try and create a new stream that is not totally random, but on that is reviewed, edited and refined from season one, created with a plan and structure and intended to be listen to by other people, like you our ideal listener is is busy, but wants to have new ideas shared with them. The season one episodes are created for our own purposes, self expression, thinking out loud, therapy, exchanging of ideas and just hanging out. After careful thought, I would say that this is not a really a podcast as I understood the intent of the pod-father Adam Curry, and of course I maybe wrong. It not really meant as entertainment for the masses, does not deal with everyday topics, It is not supposed to be a radio entertainment program. Entertainment is however not really a goal of mine, but we don’t want to waste your time or bore you. We need to find a happy medium between lightheartedness and dry facts. We are not trying to entertain you, distract you or make things easy on you. This podcast is to challenge you after a hard day of work to turn your brain on even more and think about things you never thought of. We entertain wild speculation and what could be considered crackpot ideas as well sometimes. This stream is for mind expansion, workout and challenge. It is like a gym that will knock you out and beat you up with new content. The goal of this project in the end is to provide you not with an audio recording but an interactive executable program that delivers deep knowledge in a multimedia environment. Imagine if you could visit any topic you want and hear something about it, choose the order of your adventure and dig into parts that you want to. That is my ultimate goal. I am not trying to be like other artists, except maybe like my one of my favorite authors Umberto Eco, who just overwhelms you with knowledge and depth. I enjoyed reading Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary and other authors in my youth, the teachings of Buddha and Lao Tzu. I read also the work of Richard Stallman and Marx who I think are somehow interrelated. Recently I have been getting into the modern philosophers covered by Steven West in the philosophize this podcast, and also the leadership lessons of Jocko. I have been studying more math, statistics and machine learning. I support open source, open knowledge, open streetmap and wikipedia in so far that they are producing software and data that is unencumbered, I do not support many of the political and social experiments that seem to be associated with different projects but as long as the data is not being deleted I will support them in the production of more code and data. We are creating experimental noise art, a post modern experiment in the stream of consciousness, totally random thoughts with no planning, review or editing in season one. Now the first wave of the experiment has run we are reviewing the negative feedback so far and are attempting to improve upon it, that is season three. This review has shown a lot of negative feedback, specific and general. People talk about how they have a high standards for podcast, expect high audio quality and entertainment. They talk in general, not about my podcast, but in general in disdain for other peoples attempts to create art.
