On Saturday, August 16, 2014, we are going to be taking a look inside. It'll be a casual, free, one-day event with talks by Nashville developers on low-level software. What do you know about the inside of software and hardware we use every day? Submit a talk on that!
Systems programming is programming in situations where the high-level programming languages we all know and love aren't available or aren't viable. Example topics (you're not limited to these, of course):
- what happens when you open a file (how system calls and filesystems work)
- how virtualization works
- how Ruby hashes work
- how virtual memory works
- inside a game engine
This is going to be a casual event, free for everyone. You can give a short talk (10 minutes is fine) or something more in-depth.
To propose a talk, send email to jason.orendorff@gmail.com or tweet @jorendorff.
