Copy Check is a Chrome extension that detects copy actions on web pages and displays notifications.
Copy Check collects the following information:
- User settings (notification color, opacity, text)
- Google account email (only when signed in for premium features)
- These settings are stored locally in your browser through chrome.storage.sync and in our Firebase database
- User settings are stored in your browser and in our Firebase database for premium features
- The content of copied text is never collected or stored
- We do not collect any browsing history
- We do not use cookies or tracking mechanisms
This extension uses the following permissions:
notifications: Required to display copy notificationsstorage: Required to save user settingsidentityandidentity.email: Required for Google Sign-in<all_urls>: Required to detect copy events on all web pages
- User settings are used to customize the appearance of copy notifications
- Email addresses are used only to verify premium status
- Settings are synchronized across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome
- No data is shared with third parties except Google Firebase for authentication purposes
- All settings are stored securely in your Chrome browser and Firebase
- We use industry standard security measures to protect your data
- Personal data is encrypted during transmission
Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to use this service without permission from a legal guardian.
