Privacy Policy for Gemini Quick Translator

Thank you for using Gemini Quick Translator. This extension is an independent project and is not affiliated with Google. Your privacy is very important to us.

Data We Handle

Gemini Quick Translator needs to handle two types of data to function:

  1. User-Provided Google Gemini API Key: You must provide your own API key from Google AI Studio for the extension to work. This key is stored securely on your local computer using Chrome's standard storage (chrome.storage.sync) and is never sent to us or any third party other than Google's own servers to authenticate your requests.

  2. Text for Translation: The text you select or paste for translation is sent directly to the Google Gemini API for the sole purpose of providing you with a translation. We do not collect, store, log, or share any text you translate.

Data Collection

To be clear: we do not collect any personal information. All data handled by the extension is either stored on your computer or sent directly to Google's API servers by you, the user. We have no access to your API key or the content you translate.
