Linglo Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Linglo ("the Extension") handles user data.

1. Data Collection and Storage:
Linglo is designed to enhance your browsing and learning experience without collecting or storing your personal data on external servers.
*   Local Processing: All data processing, including the analysis of selected text for explanations, occurs directly within your
browser.
*   Local Storage: Any user data, such as saved vocabulary words, explanation history, and user settings, is stored exclusively on your
local device using your browser's IndexedDB and Chrome's local storage APIs. This data is not transmitted to, or stored on, any external
servers operated by Linglo or third parties (except for the necessary API calls described below).

2. Third-Party API Usage:
Linglo utilizes Google's Gemini API to provide AI-powered text explanations. When you select text and request an explanation, the selected 
text and relevant context (e.g., current tab URL for context) are sent to Google's Gemini API. This data is processed by Google's API to 
generate the explanation and is not stored by Linglo on any external servers. Google's own privacy policy applies to data processed by their
API.

3. No Personal Identifiable Information (PII) Collection:
Linglo does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, IP address, or browsing history.

4. No Data Sharing or Sale:
Linglo does not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for marketing or any other purposes.

5. Data Security:
Since all user data is stored locally on your device, its security is primarily dependent on the security of your device and browser. Linglo
does not implement server-side data security measures as it does not store data on servers.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy:
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You
are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
