GHoST subtree protocol. Verifiable delay functions.

A lot of work on cross shard transactions. Much more efficient fee market. Storage fees. Synchronous cross shard tx. Casper CBC expanded to its own brand of sharding.

Vitalik introduces serenity. Link to existint pow chain. Once this is stable enough. Contract shard of new system. Ewasm will be in it. Serenity is a world computer as its meant to be.

Its a beacon chain validator. Phase 0 beacon pos. Blockchain not holding information. You have validators. Halfway between testnet and mainnet. Stake real ether. If it breaks people will cry.

Phase 2 enable state transitions, and ewasms.

Expected feature: pure pos. 1000x scalability. 1 confirmation from beacon chain.

Privacy and cross shard transactions. Semi private chain.

Stabilize protocol spec. Beacon chain md. Spec moving quickly stabilize soon. Theres 8 implementations of it ongoing. Will take less than 19 months. No need for cross client compatibility.

Not far from release portion of the spec. Milestone not too far away.
