[ANN] Sugar Background Image Contest

Sugarlabs is glad to announce the first contest for Sugar Background Images. We'll choose 10 images that will form a pack of user-contributed backgrounds.

  • create your background image!
  • send it to bla@bla.com before end of March 2014
  • apply to the terms and conditions below

Terms and conditions

You have to be the author of the image, derivative work is allowed.

  • Use license CC-by-sa
  • Use format PNG
  • Use size 1600 x 1200 pixels

Tips

  • Be creative! You can use Paint or Turtle Blocks paintings, Record to take photos, and more activities. You are not restricted to Sugar activities neither.

  • Before applying to the contest, test your image in Sugar. With Sugar 100 or later,

    1. place your background in Documents
    2. go to My Settings -> Background
    3. select your background.

Why not mention Turtle Blocks?

We should aim for the content to end before GSoC begins. So maybe end of March?

We need to think about how to advertise it.

Maybe an XO 4 to the winner (if I can get my hands on one?) or a t-shirt with all the winning images?

This contest should target a different group than GSoC, then would not be a problem (other than to the people runing the contest, of course...)

About the prize, maybe we can be sponsored by olpc au or ceibal? We need think about how many prizes we will give (we are thinking in select a set of wallpapers)
