Aunt Lil's Brisket | |
Ingredients: | |
-3-4 lb brisket. | |
-Large white onion | |
-paprika | |
-caraway seed | |
1) Chop white onion and wilt in oil with 2tbs paprika and 2tbs caraway seeds | |
2) Season brisket with salt, pepper, paprika, let sit for a while at room temp | |
3) Sear brisket in hot oil | |
4) Add the onions to the pot with the browned brisket and add one large can of tomato sauce and one can of water | |
5) Cook on stove top, on low, bubbling for 2 hours | |
6) Take brisket out, slice it, put it back in pot with one can of nice red wine | |
7) Add small red potatos, chopped carrots, and pearl onions, and cook for an additional hour |
