Hmm, looks like the hyperkit qcow2 driver and your qcow2 disagree about something and then possibly the qcow2 backend driver crashes given the timeouts. Could you try converting to a raw disk and/or check of the qcow2 works. It may also be that the qcow2 driver needs additional arguments. I'm not too familiar with it and we switched to using raw disks on high sierra (and EFI ISOs)

I agree, something is up with the qcow backend.
