The Abyss

Goal

Reach the end of the maze and hold plate til bridge forms.

Strategy

The Fireteam must run between each of the lamps to traverse te maze.

Reaching a lamp and staying within its light will remove the 'Weight of Darkness' debuffs. However, the lamps will explode if guardians stay too long, so the group needs to keep moving.

Area-of-effect grenades are helpful for making thralls change their course, and for burning down large groups. If your recommended subclass can carry two grenades, this will be tremendously helpful.

At the end of the maze, you'll have a plate to stand on to build the bridge. Once this is started, an Ogre will spawn from the left or right size. The bridge will finished when he dies. The rest of the mobs will not despawn, so you'll have to keep dropping grenades and fight as you run towards the light.

Only one guardian needs to make it into the light for the team to clear the checkpoint.

Recommended Subclasses

  • Striker Titan
  • Bladedancer Hunter
  • Sunsinger Warlock

Preferred Stats

  • Maxed Agility (use guns with Lightweight)
  • Discipline and Strength for grenades and melee

The Bridge

Goal

Cross the bridge and kill the two Hallowed Ogres on the other side

Strategy

The fireteam will enter on the Swordbearer side of the chasm.

Start by having 2 guardians on each of the totem plates and the center plate. These must be held to build the bridge without wiping the fireteam.

Kill mobs and focus fire the Swordbearer once he appears. One of the two from the center plate should take the blade and traverse.

The first guardians across should likely be Titans with stun grenades equipped so they can blind the Gatekeeper. The Gatekeeper will always rush the center plate, and cannot be damaged with guns.

Once across, the swordbearing guardian must kill the Gatekeeper. It's also advised they avoid the middle plate initially, as it may sometimes trigger the Gate-side totems.

Repeat the above process with the next two guardians, who should come off of the left and right totem plates.

Once three guardians have crossed to the Gatekeeper side and downed their Gatekeeper, they can then stand on the Gate-side totem and bridge plates. Guardians on the entrance side can move about freely at this time.

Guardians on the Gate side will likely need to snipe across the chasm to help burn down the Swordbearer.

After all six guardians are across, the Hallowed Ogres will spawn. Splitting into two groups of three and using rockets to focus fire the Ogres is advised.
