Sample file exclusion list for Visual Studio Code

Any user of VSCode will be familiar with the files.exclude object when using the built-in settings editor for both user and workspace-level configuration, that prevents certain filetypes from showing up in the sidebar when working in directories with binary files, dotfiles, etc.

The JSON list below adds the following to the default exclusion list:

  • Zipped and image-based archives
  • Common Adobe source files
  • Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, and LibreOffice files
  • Common images, video, and audio formats
You can’t perform that action at this time.
