Thank you for using Tab Storage Copier. This document outlines our privacy policy regarding data handling within the extension.
Tab Storage Copier is designed with your privacy as a priority. We want to be crystal clear: the extension does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to any remote server or third party.
All operations performed by the extension are executed locally on your computer, within your browser.
To provide its core functionality, Tab Storage Copier requires the following permissions. Here is an explanation of why each is necessary:
-
tabs: This permission is used exclusively to list your open tabs in the "source" and "target" dropdown menus. This allows you to select which tabs you want to work with. The extension only reads tab IDs and titles for display in the UI and does not store this information. -
scripting: This permission is essential for accessing and transferring storage data. The extension programmatically injects a script into the user-selected source tab to read itslocalStorageandsessionStorage, and into the target tab to write this data. This script only runs when you explicitly click the "Submit" button and only accesses the data required for the copy operation. -
cookies: This permission is required to read cookies from the source tab's domain and write them to the target tab's domain, as requested by you. The extension does not log, analyze, or transmit any cookie data.
The data you choose to copy (localStorage, sessionStorage, cookies) is read from the source tab and immediately written to the target tab. It is not stored within the extension itself or logged anywhere. Once the operation is complete, the extension holds no record of the data that was transferred.
We may update this Privacy Policy in the future if the extension's functionality changes. Any updates will be reflected in a new version of this document.
