The descriptions here are not clear. Do they provide real estate that is currently available, not just historical data?

I tried to access the Zillow API links but looks most are broken. For some APIs it's directed to https://www.bridgeinteractive.com/developers/zillow-group-data/ instead. Does this mean most of APIs in this document are out of date now? Shall we use the Bridge API platform instead to access Zillow data now? Please advise. Thanks.

I'm thinking Zillow stopped the free real estate API option recently. I don't see the option to choose the property details API anymore.

did you find another API like Zillow API without using a third party API ? Thanks

We also found the Zillow API very useful in easily obtaining real estate information. We saw that Bridge Interactive was taking over the management of Zillow's API starting Sept 2020, and so we are also very interested in the availability of any free real estate website APIs which could provide basic property details (bd, ba, sq ft, acres) and a fair market value without the need to register with a 3rd party.

Has anyone using Zillow API before moved to Bridge API now? How you did it, can you share your code and Bridge API calls you use now instead of which Zillow API calls?

Bridge Interactive appears to be declining access to their API unless someone has an MLS # or other real estate professional credential.

What would you recommend to do or use? Zillow or maybe another option? maybe other public databases?

Thanks in advance 😊

Looks like Zillow is finally sunsetting in favor of Bridge. Two webapps I maintain just went down. ATTOM and Estated are expensive, SimplyRETS is all messed up, Rets.ly and RETSRabbit were bought out, and Datafiniti is just the lesser of the evils at this point, though it's not really what we need either. Ugh.

Definitely interested in anything you can find out. I am just looking for a way to get the property owner names from a list of addresses that I already have. And I dont want to do this manually.

Interested if some one finds a good alternative to Zillow. We're willing to pay but not at like $.50 - $1.00 per call or something crazy like that. Been emailing with Bridge for a week now and can't get a price out of them.

I need to do some editing of this list! ListHub has an api now for listings (don’t think it has owner data for that you need to find a public property data aggregator like CoreLogic). http://developer.listhub.com/api/

I was finally able to get access to Bridge and it has a lot of good data. Missing a couple things I need, but has zestimate which was the main thing I needed. If you fit within their terms of use, it's still free like the zillow api was.

@Xtremehead
Copy link

@keithslater can you share the process of getting access to Bridge?

@keithslater
Copy link

Yep, it was pretty easy, just took some days of answering questions. Just email their api email and request what you're looking for. They'll send some questions asking about how you're going to use the data and you have to agree to use it within the terms of use. It has the same sort of requirements that zillow did where you can't store their data and stuff like that. Once you get approved you create an account and get a login with api keys.

@Xtremehead

Great thanks for the info! I’ll give it a try

We have recently released documentation for our GraphQL api at TenantBase.

https://www.tenantbase.com/partner/graphql/docs/

Current use cases cover:

  1. View our active tenants (requirements) in the market looking for space.
  2. Connect and manage your existing listing inventory on TenantBase’s platform so that it is displayed to Tenants searching in the market.

The issue with Bridge is I believe they are now enforcing the 1000 calls / per day limit. Zillow Group was not enforcing it.

https://www.bridgeinteractive.com/developers/zillow-group-data/

Q: How many calls per day may I make through the Bridge API?

A: After your application and use case are reviewed, you will be issued a maximum of 1,000 calls/day per data set.

@keithslater were you able to confirm this?

@keithslater
Copy link

keithslater commented Aug 10, 2021

Yes that seems correct but it's hard to tell since it's per data set. The usage doesn't break it down very well.

@keithslater what was the use case you provided to Bridge to gain access to Zestimates? Do you have MLS credentials?

I just explained what I was using it for (to display Zillow information in our app). No I don't have MLS credentials.

@bakedwafer
Copy link

@keithslater. Concur. However, I think Bridge is now enforcing API calls. So, you'd get 1000 calls to the Property Details API and then you'd be throttled for the day. 1000 calls to Zestimate etc.

I think their intention is to price tier above that. $ per month for 10,000 calls. $$ months for 50,000 calls.... etc.

I have a bridge account and have emailed them inquiring about it. I will let you know. @keithslater, just curious if you found any other sources for property details data other than web scrapes?

RylanSchaeffer commented Aug 10, 2021

@bakedwafer and @keithslater , what was your use case that Bridge approved?

@bakedwafer
Copy link

bakedwafer commented Aug 12, 2021

Hello,

I just received confirmation. The limit for Bridge is 1,000 calls/day per data set. Confirmed by Bridge. I don't actually see how it could be useful for anything in production if this is the case.

@ryanschaeffer - My use case is for a public, non-paying site, which will allow users to access the data. You cannot charge for it and the data cannot be used in any derivative calculations etc.

However, I probably won't use it, even though I am approved, because of the 1,000 / call limitation. That makes it essentially useless.

Access to recent home sales, individual property sales history, recent home valuations, tax assessment, and liabilities information, in my opinion, will make web development much easier. As for me, I prefer Rets.ly. That is why I recommend to refer to this web developer. According to what I've heard, this team is successfully implementing this API.
